The Begining

In order for you to truly understand and appreciate my journey I must first take you to where it all began. Not to how my parents met and so forth (that is their story not mine) but to before I was even conceived.  You see my mommy and daddy tried for a really long time get me.  There were lots of prayers prayed and lots of tears cried.  They even had started talking about the possibility of adopting a child!  Both mommy and daddy went to the doctor and daddy was fine but mommies body was not able to make babies with out some help from medicine.  So mommy took the medicine and it worked in the first month.  I was conceived and everyone celebrated!  Mommy and daddy prayed for me everyday.  Mommy sang to me every night and daddy talked to me all the time.  I grew and grew until about week 25 (doctors guess).  That is when things started to go bad.  Mommies placenta stopped working and I had to start fighting to make it all on my own!

On Thursday December 23rd we had a regular doctors appointment with Dr. Flemming.  Mommies blood pressure was a little high so they made her lay on her left side for the whole appointment to see if it would go down.  They retook it and it was normal.  Doctor Flemming told mommy that she would probably be a good candidate for pre-clampsia but that she had never had protien in her urine so that was a very good sign that we would not have to worry about it yet, however we still had to come back in two weeks and get rechecked.  Two whole weeks how was I going to make it till then with out the placenta to help me?  Something had to be done, i needed help! So on Friday December 24th mommy woke up with a "rock" in her belly that sent pain all around her side to her back.  She cried and cried because she was in so much pain.  The doctor sent mommy up to triage to be checked out.  They check her urine and her blood pressure and everything was normal.  So they told mommy it was something muscular and sent her home with a percription for Flexeral.  We went to Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Ryan's house and mommy was sick the whole time.  When we got home mommy threw up all over the dining room floor and she decided right then and there and they needed to go to the ER because something else was wrong.  At the ER the doctor told mommy she was constipated and told her to use stool softeners and drink LOTS of fluid.  There was still no protein in her urine but her blood pressure was high but the nurse said that is because she was dehydrated and to make sure she was drinking enough.  They gave her a percription for Tylanle 3.  The next day was Christmas.  Mommy woke up in extreme pain and took a Tynole 3 and felt a little better.  She was in bed all day unable to move.  We had to go to the Downing family Christmas when daddy got home so mommy saved her next pills until the party.  She took one as soon as we got there and felt better for a bit, she was even able to eat a little.  They got to open presents and got some really great outfits for me.  Then mommy started hurting again.  She was in so much pain she had to lay down, she wanted so badly to believe that it was constipation but mommy knew there was something else wrong and told daddy it was time to go.  All the way home mommy was sick, daddy had to keep stopping so that she could open the door and throw up.  Daddy was so nice though and cleaned out mommies car so that mommy could just go lay down and rest.  But that did not happen at all.  Mommy hurt the worse that she ever had and so she called the doctor to see what she should do.  The doctor said that she needed to go to triage and get an enema.  Mommy didn't want to go because she hated to drive that far for nothing and waste the gas but thank God daddy made her get in the car and go.  Mommy threw up the whole way to the hospital,  daddy was almost sick too but that was just because mommy was grossing him out.  As soon as we got there the doctor had mommy pee in a cup and they hooked me up to that heart monitor thing that I hate.  I tried my hardest to kick it off to no avail.  The nurse came back in the room and told mommy and daddy that there was LOTS of protein in mommies urine and that she might have pre-clampisa.  Then at 1:00 AM mommy and daddy where given the scary news, Mommy had severe pre-clampisa and was VERY sick and I was going to be born within 24 hours! Daddy made the calls to the grandparents he was very worried and cried alot!  Nana, Papa, and Grandpa and Grandma Ryan where at the hospital as fast as they could be.  They all stayed until 4:00 AM and decided to go home and have mommy and daddy call them when the time came so that everyone could get some sleep.  Well at 7:00AM mommy and daddy got a visit from Doctor Flemming.  She told them that they were going to have me right away because my placenta had stopped working and I was sick too.  This is what I had been trying to tell them all along!  Thank God for Doctor Flemming.  Also mommy was so sick her platelets were dropping and they were afraid that if they waited that mommy would bleed to death because her blood would not be able to clot.  So daddy did the calling again crying and worried while mommy was prepped for the surgery.  Mommy and daddy where in the delivery room even before my grandparents could get to the hospital.  Finally at 8:36 AM I saw a very bright light and heard the doctor say, "Hello Weezie... boy you are long".  I made a few noises to let mommy and daddy know I was OK and not to worry and I watched all the doctors hustle around and put the tube down my throat.
Finally I was out of the womb and into the world.  Yes it was earlier then expected and yes I would have liked to stay in longer, but God makes things happen for a reason, and December 26, 2010 is the day I was supposed to join my mommy and daddy in the world.  I may be really small but NOTHING is going to stop me from making my mark in this world and all the many hearts that I come in contact with.  And so begins my journey......
